In Memory Of Alex Balestrieri

Die With Memories

Alexander “Alex” Phillip Balestrieri lived life with unmatched passion, curiosity, and joy. Born on April 10, 1997, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, Alex’s spirit was defined by adventure, love of the outdoors, and deep devotion to family and community. On February 23, 2023, he passed away in Afton, Wyoming doing what he loved — embracing life’s experiences to the fullest.

From a young age, Alex worked alongside his father at Balestrieri Environmental & Development Inc., where his dedication and work ethic eventually led him to serve as Project Manager and Estimator, mastering both precision and vision in complex projects.

Alex’s passions extended far beyond work. He was an avid outdoorsman — water skiing, golfing, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, mountain biking, and exploring new horizons. He embraced every challenge, earning a second-degree black belt in martial arts and a Private Pilot’s License so he could fly his family to cherished traditions.

Summers meant lakeside days jet skiing and surfing with loved ones; winters meant riding trails and forming lifelong bonds with fellow adventurers. Alex had a rare ability to bring people together — mentoring friends in the outdoors, sharing stories by the fire, and creating memories that will live on.

Alex’s zest for life was infectious. He lived with purpose, generosity, courage, and an open heart. His adventurous spirit and kindness touched everyone who knew him. His smile, drive, and love of life will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his beloved parents, Kenneth R. & Cynthia K. Balestrieri, his sister Jessica K. Balestrieri, his soulmate Anne L. Gahart (and their dog Ellie Mae and cat Owen), grandparents, aunts, uncles, and countless friends whose lives he enriched.

In lieu of flowers, Alex’s family has asked that donations be made in his memory to Star Valley Search and Rescue, honoring his love for the outdoors and his commitment to supporting others.

Alex lived boldly. He loved deeply. He created memories that inspire us all to chase the horizon.
